Taryn Hallowell (Belvidere, NJ, Belvidere) scored the Lady Colonels lone goal as Wilkes University fell to Misericordia University 2-1 in a conference women's soccer matchup that decided the final spot in the Freedom Conference playoffs.
Wilkes got on the board first as Hallowell converted a penalty kick in the 36th minute, her 10th goal of the season.
Misericordia tied it up late, getting a goal from Alyssa Mocion in the 75th minute before Laura Roney's goal in the 80th minute put the Cougars ahead.
The Lady Colonels had multiple good looks at the net, outshooting Misericordia 13-10, as three shots hit the post.
Samantha Rohn (Levittown, Neshaminy) saved two shots in her 90 minutes in goal for Wilkes.
The Lady Colonels season ends with a 6-11-2 record, going 2-3-2 in the conference. Hallowell, who was honored before the game on Senior Night, led the Lady Colonels with 22 points on 10 goals and two assists. She ends her career with 74 points in 74 games, scoring 30 goals and dishing out 14 assists. Her 30 goals are tied for fifth all-time in school history while her point total puts her in sole possession of fifth place.
