NORFOLK, Va. - Peace College broke open a 1-1 tie in the top of the eighth inning with six runs to take a 7-1 win over Wilkes University.

Peace opened the game with a run in the top of the first, while the Lady Colonels tied the game in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by Cori Saltzer (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin East). Wilkes opened the frame with back-to-back singles by Megan Mowery (Berwick/Berwick) and Amanda Holton. Both would move up a base after a passed ball before Saltzer's deep fly to center plating Mowery.

Neither team would be able to score again until Peace picked up three of its nine hits in extra innings to take the win.

Rachel Miller (Wyoming, Pa./Holy Redeemer), Lindsay Behrenshausen (Mt. Holly Springs/Boiling Springs) and Kayla Kinney (Hazleton/Hazleton Area) also picked up hits as the Lady Colonels fell to 1-4 on the year. They will be back in action on Friday when they compete in the Salisbury Tournament along with Shenandoah, Va. Wesleyan, Washington and host Salisbury.
