The Wilkes University men's tennis team continues to roll as it took a 9-0 win over PSU Berks, improving to 11-2 overall.
The Colonels lost just one set in the victory and dropped a total of seven games in doubles action. Wilkes jumped on the Nittany Lions early when
Clarke Freeman (York, PA/Central York) and
Cesar Leon (Woodhaven, NY/Brooklyn Tech) won their match 8-0 at the No. 2 spot before
Evan Katz (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) and
Wes McCollum (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) made it 2-0 after their 8-2 at the No. 3 position.
Chris Cozzillio (Harrisburg/Trinity) and
Jeremy Nolt (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win at the top spot.
In singles play, Cozzillio made it 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 2 position before Nolt Clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot. Katz, McCollum and Freeman each won their singles matches in straight-sets, while Leon won 10-5 in the super-tie break to pick up a victory at the top spot.
