RIVERDALE, NY – A goal in the 85th minute proved to be the game-winner as Wilkes University fell to New York University 1-0 in a women's soccer match up on Friday afternoon at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.

NYU controlled the game offensively in the first half, putting up 11 shots, including four on goal. The Lady Colonels stepped up the pressure defensively in the second half and limited NYU to just five shots. None, however, were on goal until Erin Ahmed took a cross from Serra Tumay and found the back of the net with just over five minutes remaining in the contest.

Samantha Rohn (Levittown, Neshaminy) started and went the entire 90 minutes in the net for Wilkes, making four saves. The Lady Colonels are back in action next Wednesday when they host Susquehanna University at the Ralston Athletic Complex. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
