BLOOMSBURG – The Wilkes University men's tennis team competed in the Bloomsburg Fall Classic, joining East Stroudsburg University, Ithaca College, University of Mary Washington, the University of Scranton and the Huskies this weekend.

For the Colonels on Saturday, Alex Makos (Mansfield, PA/Mansfield) in the “C” Singles bracket and Jon Rohrbach (Muncy/Muncy) in the “D” Singles bracket advanced to the second round. The duos of Wes McCollum (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) and Clarke Freeman (York, PA/Central York) moved on in the “A” Doubles bracket and Dakkota Deem (Montgomery, PA/Montgomery) and Makos in the “B” Doubles bracket, as well. 

Brandon Helfrich (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) won the "D" Singles consolation bracket in Sunday competition, while Evan Katz (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) and Jeremy Nolt (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) won the "A" Doubles consolation bracket and the team of Rohrbach and Helfrich won the "B" Doubles consolation.

Next up for the Colonels is the MAC individual tournament, held at Wilkes University on October 16 and 17.
