WILKES-BARRE – Taryn Hallowell (Belvidere, NJ, Belvidere) had a goal and an assist as the Lady Colonels cruised by Susquehanna on Wednesday evening. Wilkes had two first half goals, and an early second half score to defeat the Crusaders 3-1.

In the first period Wilkes struck first, as Hallowell found Megan Clementson (Frederick, MD, Tuscarora) on a corner kick, and the junior defender headed it in to take a 1-0 lead. Hallowell added another score later when she worked her way through two Crusader defenders only to score from 20 yards out.

In the second half the Lady Colonels wasted no time in scoring their third goal, as Lyndsay Ellis (Shavertown, Dallas) found Brooke Edwards (Levittown, Harry S. Truman) three minutes into the period. It was Edwards' first goal of her career at Wilkes.

Susquehanna scored a late goal, but Wilkes tightened up its defense to hold the Crusaders to the lone score, winning 3-1. Samantha Rohn (Levittown, Neshaminy) collected the win in goal, saving two shots. With the win Wilkes is now 3-0 at home on the season.

Wilkes will now play Delaware Valley on Saturday, Oct. 2. That game will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex; it is also homecoming for the Lady Colonels.
