WILKES WOMEN'S SOCCER BATTLES TO 0-0 2OT TIE IN FREEDOM OPENER AT MISERICORDIA

DALLAS, PA – 110 minutes could not decide a winner as Wilkes University and Misericordia University finished scoreless in a 0-0 2OT tie in both teams' Freedom opener Saturday afternoon from Mangelsdorf Field.

Wilkes moves to 4-2-2 overall and 0-0-1 in Freedom play. Misericordia stands 4-3-2 overall and 0-0-1 in league matches.

The teams played even throughout as Misericordia held a slight 14-10 shot advantage. Both teams garnered three corner kicks each in the match.

Wilkes' keeper Sam Lindo (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) finished with two saves in net. Lady Cougar goalie Jess Anderson made six stops.

Wilkes will return to action Tuesday with a non-league road matchup at Elizabethtown College at 7:00 p.m.
