WILKES WOMEN'S SOCCER DOOMED BY FOUR UNANSWERED SECOND HALF GOALS IN 6-1 LOSS AT ETOWN

LANCASTER, PA – Elizabethtown's Taylor Kreider notched a hat trick and Laura Wingert scored twice and added one assist to lead the host Blue Jays to a 6-1 non-conference victory over Wilkes University Tuesday afternoon from the Weaver Athletic Complex.

With the loss Wilkes drops to 4-3-2 overall, while Elizabethtown improves to 6-3-1 on the year.

Wingert put Elizabethtown up 1-0 with her first goal of the game off a Kreider assist at the 29:51 mark. Following the break, the Blue Jays extended their lead to 2-0 when a cross was deflected in off a Wilkes defender at 46:01. Ashley Graham (New Hampton, NY/Minisink Valley) cut the deficit in half at 2-1 at 48:11 when she found the back of the net off a Jana Martin (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) cross.

From there Elizabethtown scored four unanswered goals to seal the 6-1 non-league tilt. Kreider notched all three of her goals in an eleven minute span to put the Blue Jays up for good, 5-1. Wingert cashed in on her second of the contest at the 88:52 mark to end the Blue Jay scoring tear.

Elizabethtown held a 17-2 shot advantage, while garnering seven corner kicks to Wilkes' three attempts. Sam Lindo (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) started in net for Wilkes making four saves in 67:46, while Hayley Kay (Danville, PA/Danville) entered in relief posting one stop. Blue Jays keeper Jess Manchak recording the win in net playing all but eight minutes in the contest.

Wilkes will return to Freedom Conference play Saturday when they host FDU-Florham at 4:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
