Steve Finkernagel WILKES WOMEN’S SOCCER DOOMED BY FOUR UNANSWERED SECOND HALF GOALS IN 6-1 LOSS AT ETOWN 10/4/2011 6:16:00 PM (Box Score) WILKES WOMEN'S SOCCER DOOMED BY FOUR UNANSWERED SECOND HALF GOALS IN 6-1 LOSS AT ETOWN LANCASTER, PA – Elizabethtown's Taylor Kreider notched a hat trick and Laura Wingert scored twice and added one assist to lead the host Blue Jays to a 6-1 non-conference victory over Wilkes University Tuesday afternoon from the Weaver Athletic Complex. With the loss Wilkes drops to 4-3-2 overall, while Elizabethtown improves to 6-3-1 on the year. Wingert put Elizabethtown up 1-0 with her first goal of the game off a Kreider assist at the 29:51 mark. Following the break, the Blue Jays extended their lead to 2-0 when a cross was deflected in off a Wilkes defender at 46:01. Ashley Graham (New Hampton, NY/Minisink Valley) cut the deficit in half at 2-1 at 48:11 when she found the back of the net off a Jana Martin (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) cross. From there Elizabethtown scored four unanswered goals to seal the 6-1 non-league tilt. Kreider notched all three of her goals in an eleven minute span to put the Blue Jays up for good, 5-1. Wingert cashed in on her second of the contest at the 88:52 mark to end the Blue Jay scoring tear. Elizabethtown held a 17-2 shot advantage, while garnering seven corner kicks to Wilkes' three attempts. Sam Lindo (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) started in net for Wilkes making four saves in 67:46, while Hayley Kay (Danville, PA/Danville) entered in relief posting one stop. Blue Jays keeper Jess Manchak recording the win in net playing all but eight minutes in the contest.
