ELIZABETHTOWN – Jeremy Nolt (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and the Colonels took each of the three doubles matches as Wilkes University defeated Elizabethtown College 8-1 in a big Freedom-Commonwealth Conference men's tennis crossover matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Nolt's win came over the Blue Jays No. 1 Manrique Arrea, while Wes McCollum (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) took a 6-3, 6-0 win over Josh Riehl in the No. 2 slot and Evan Katz (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) defeated Eric Fritzges 6-6, 7-6 (9-7), 10-5 at No. 3,

Dakkota Deem (Montgomery, PA/Montgomery) picked up a three-set win at No. 5 while Alex Makos (Mansfield, PA/Mansfield) won 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 6 spot.

McCollum and Katz teamed for an 8-5 win over Arrea and Riehl at No. 1 doubles, while Nolt and Deem had an 8-2 win at No. 2 and Clarke Freeman (York, PA/Central York) and Makos won 8-3 at No. 3.

The victory was the Colonels fourth straight as they moved to 4-1 in the spring. They go on the road to face the Huskies of Division II Bloomsburg University on Tuesday, with a match start set for 3:30 p.m.
