WILKES WOMEN'S SOCCER BLANKED BY ARCADIA IN HAVERFORD KICKOFF CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP, 4-0
HAVERFORD, PA – Sara Volk-Perez scored two goals to lead Arcadia University to a 4-0 win over Wilkes University in the championship of the Haverford College Kick-Off Classic Sunday afternoon.
With the loss Wilkes slips to 1-1 on the season, while Arcadia improves to 2-0.
Arcadia took an early lead scoring their first goal just 9:07 into the contest. The lead grew to 2-0 when Volk-Perez notched her first tally of the game at 27:19 of the first frame. The Knights added their third goal of the game right before the break to take a 3-0 lead at the half.
Arcadia would add one more insurance goal in the second half to secure the victory. The Knights held a 20-9 shot advantage, while collecting six corner kicks to Wilkes' one attempt.
Sam Lindo (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) made one save in net for Wilkes, splitting time with Hayley Kay (Danville, PA/Danville) who posted five saves in relief.
Wilkes will make their home debut Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference tilt against Scranton at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
