The men's team will play in the annual Monarch Classic Friday and Saturday at King's College while the Lady Colonels travel to Selinsgrove, Pa Saturday for a 2:00 matchup with Susquehanna University. The Wilkes men look to snap a four-game skid as they play Susquehanna at nearby King's College in the opening round of the Monarch Classic at 6:00 p.m.. Shovlin has reached 20+ points in four of the Colonels six games this season including a career-high 38 points against Lycoming earlier this year. Tyler Breznitsky (Freeland, PA/MMI Prep) is enjoying an impressive senior campaign, averaging 12.0 points while Bernard Edmonds (Exeter, PA/Wyoming Area) is anchoring the frontcourt with 13.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per-contest. The Colonels are averaging 79.2 points per-game while giving up 82.3 points per-contest. Susquehanna enters the contest with a 2-5 overall record defeating Misericordia University 61-56 in their last contest. Spencer Ortmyer leads the charge with 9.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per-game. J.T Wilson averages 8.1 points and leads the squad lacing 14 shots from behind the arc. In the second day of the tournament, the Colonels will play Central Pennsylvania College at 1:00 p.m. The Knights are 8-2 and coming off a year that saw them fall in the USCAA Elite 8. Central Penn will play King's in the opening round of the round robin formatted tournament Friday at 8:00 p.m. The Lady Colonels are coming off a 75-67 victory over No. 21 Scranton which serves as their second-ever win over the Lady Royals and is one of the biggest upsets in program history. Last season, Wilkes rolled over the Crusaders 76-56 at the Marts Center for the Lady Colonels fourth win of the season.
