WILKES MEN'S TENNIS CONCLUDES PLAY AT SCRANTON INVITATIONAL

 
SCRANTON, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team captured two individual championships and one doubles title to conclude play at the Scranton Invitational Sunday afternoon.
 
In the second flight of singles play, Connor Peckham (Warminster, PA/Central Bucks East) scored a 6-1, 6-2 win over teammate Max Appello (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) to capture the first of Wilkes' two singles titles.
 
At the third singles flight, another all-Wilkes final saw Brandon Helfrich (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) record a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Brendon Blachowski (Newtown, PA /Council Rock North).
 
The team of Blachowski/Clarke Freeman (York, PA/Central York) claimed the second doubles flight title with an 8-6 win over the Colonels duo of Appello/Daniel Hackford (Binghamton, NY/Seton Catholic).
