The loss sends the Lady Colonels to 9-5-3 (4-1-1) while the Valiants improve to 4-11-2 (1-3-2). Tori Lettieri scored at the 14:05 mark when she hit a shot from 17 yards over the head of Wilkes goalkeeper Kate Mahoney (Kingston, NH/Central Catholic). The Colonels outshout the Valiants 6-2 in the first half and garnered one corner kick. In the second half Wilkes was able to generate eight shots and two corners but they were unable to get an equalizer. Wilkes outshot Manhattanville 14-6 for the game, with four of those shots being on goal. Wilkes still remains in second place and has already clinched a home field game in the upcoming Freedom Conference Tournament despite the loss Saturday. Wilkes returns to the pitch on Tuesday when they travel to Cortland State for a non-conference match. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3:00 p.m. Print Friendly Version
