The Lady Colonels are looking to get past the semifinals for the first time since 2005, where they defeated Drew University 1-0 in the championship match advancing on to the NCAA Tournament. Last year in the Freedom Semifinals the Lady Colonels were ousted by Eastern University in a 5-4 shootout loss.

Wilkes finished league play this year with a 4-2-1 record. They are led offensively by Freshman Samantha Hockley (Middletown, PA/Lower Dauphin) who has 14 points on seven goals. Junior Alicia Roberts (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) has five goals scored and one assist for a total of 11 points, and freshman Dianna Connor (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) also has 11 points scored on four goals and three assists. The Lady Colonels defense has been stout all season long as they have conceded only 19 goals (1.0 goals per-game). Goalkeeper Kate Mahoney (Kingston, NH/Central Catholic) leads the team with five shutouts and 53 saves. Kristy Colangelo (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea) has played valuable minutes in net as well making 10 saves in five games, allowing just four goals.

The Lady Monarchs have reached the playoffs for the first time in the program's history dating back to 1993 when they joined the MAC. Fourth-year head coach Frank Carrozza has done a remarkable job turning the King's women's soccer program around, as he has seen his squad go from basement dwellers to playoff contenders. The Lady Monarchs have played very competitive matches throughout the season winning six of their nine games by one goal. They have scored 20 goals as a team with sophomore Ivy Nulton leading the way with six goals scored and 12 points. Defensively they have conceded 26 goals with goalkeeper Jessica Natale making 76 saves (.817 save percentage). She has six shutouts on the year.

Wilkes and King's battled in their regular season contest with Wilkes coming out on top in double overtime 1-0 at the Ralston Athletic Complex. The game was physical of nature with both teams having the potential to come out on top at any point in the match. Grace Fazzi (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) netted the game-winner for Wilkes at the 107:43 mark.

The winner of Tuesday's match will advance on to face the winner of #1 Misericorida University and #4 FDU-Florham on Saturday November 9 in the Freedom Conference Championship at the highest remaining seed.
