Krawchuk fell 3-0 to unseeded Devin Biscaha of Springfield in the national final bout. Krawchuk finishes his junior campaign with a 29-4 overall mark after being ranked in the top five nationally throughout the entire 2012-13 campaign for the Colonels. It marks the fifth straight year that Wilkes has produced an All-American and second consecutive national finalist at the NCAA Championships as Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) finished second last season at 149-pounds falling in the national final. The first period saw back and forth action with neither wrestler gaining the advantage going scoreless through the first three minutes. Krawchuk began the second period on the top position maintaining riding time for 1:10 before Biscaha found room for a reversal to take a 2-0 lead with :20 left in the second period. Krawchuk would start the third period down 2-0 and chose the down position looking for an escape. The two would wrestle to a stalemate for most of the third as Biscaha forward rolled with each Krawchuk potential escape/reversal. Biscaha added a minute of riding time as the third period clock expired on way to the 3-0 decision win. Biscaha posted four straight decision wins to reach the finals entering the tournament unseeded. His 1-0 decision win in the semifinals came against second seeded Centenary's Chris Burdge who claimed the East Regional crown with a win against Krawchuk last Saturday. Burdge finished third at the NCAA Championships. Krawchuk wasted little time in reaching the national finals pinning eighth seeded Cade Sarbacker in 4:58 in the semifinals. Sarbacker, who entered the match unbeaten at 12-0, reached the semis with an upset of top seed Elias Larson of Trine with a 6-5 decision in the quarterfinals.
