WILKES MEN'S TENNIS POSTS 7-2 WIN OVER JOHN CARROLL TO CONCLUDE SPRING TRIP

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The Wilkes University men's tennis team captured a 7-2 victory over John Carroll University Friday morning to conclude its spring break trip.

The Colonels improve to 3-2 overall on the season following the win.

Wilkes took two of three doubles flights before posting wins in five of six singles matches on way to the victory.

Alex Makos (Mansfield, PA/Mansfield) posted a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 2 while Michael Kranz (Depew, NY/Lancaster Central) (No. 3) scored a 6-0, 6-1 win in straight sets. Max Appello (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) was the Colonels' third singles winner with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4. Brendon Blachowski (Newtown, PA /Council Rock North) (No. 5) and Brandon Helfrich (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) (No. 6) rounded out the straight set single wins for Wilkes.

Wilkes returns to play March 24^th when the Colonels travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to face Moravian College at 10:30 a.m.
