WILKES MEN'S TENNIS STORMS PAST RIVAL KING'S, 8-0

 
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team made short work of rival King's College posting an 8-0 victory in a rain-shorten match Friday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
 
Wilkes improves to 10-2 overall and 5-0 in Freedom contests. King's slips to 8-8 on the year and 3-1 in league play.
 
Wilkes opened with three doubles wins including the No. 2 pair of Michael Kranz (Depew, NY/Lancaster Central) and Connor Peckham (Warminster, PA/Central Bucks East) scoring an 8-0 win.
 
In singles play, Wilkes added to its lead securing straight set wins at No. 1 (Steven Wilson (Bronx, NY/JFK)), No. 3 (Kranz), No. 4 (Max Appello (Sparta, NJ/Sparta)), No. 5 (Peckham), and No. 6 Brendon Blachowski (Newtown, PA /Council Rock North).
 
The Colonels continue their home stretch tomorrow (Saturday) hosting Stevenson University on Senior Day at 1:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
