LADY COLONELS SOCCER FALLS TO ARCADIA 1-0

EDWARDSVILLE, PA – The women's soccer team allowed a goal in the last minute of the first half that ended up being the game winner for Arcadia as the Lady Colonels dropped their second match of the season 1-0. The Lady Colonels now stand at 5-2-1 on the year while Arcadia improves to 5-1-2.

Wilkes offense was held in check throughout most of the match as they were only able to muster six shots for the 90 minutes. The Lady Colonels best offensive chances came in the 20th minute when Katie Cocchi (Morris Plains, NJ/Parsipany Hills) was able to maneuver her way into the box and rip a left footed shot that was pushed aside by Arcadia goalkeeper Jackie Law. The rebound found the feet of Freshman Dianna Connor (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) who took a low hard shot that Law was able to make a hockey style save with her feet and prevent the Lady Colonels from getting on the scoring sheet first.

Nicole Lobanton found the back of the net for Arcadia off of a header, after a beautifully served corner from Kim Canfield at the 44:13 minute mark of the match. That was all Arcadia needed as they held Wilkes to one shot in the final 45 minutes of action.

The Lady Colonels return to action on Wednesday when they hit the road to Susquehanna University for a non-conference match starting at 7:00 P.M.
