Wilkes Men’s Swimming Finishes 6th; Women 8th at Diamond City Invitational 11/23/2014 1:27:00 PM (Full Results)Wilkes Men's Swimming Finishes 6th; Women 8th at Diamond City Invitational WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes University men's swim team finished sixth while the women claimed eight place at the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College Sunday afternoon at the Wilkes-Barre CYC. Misericordia took first place on the men's side with 824 total points. Arcadia finished second with 642.5 points, while Hood (514 points) and King's (429.5 points) took third and fourth respectively. Mount Saint Mary finished fifth with 356 points and Wilkes garnered sixth with 310 team points. Stevenson rounded out the scoring in seventh with 31 total points. Dominic Parfianowicz (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) led Wilkes with a 12th place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.86 breaking the school record of 52.53 set by teammate Will Hauze (Wapwallopen, PA/Holy Redeemer) earlier this year. Jeff Mastrantuono (Waverly, NY/Waverly) captured the school record in the 200 breaststroke at 2:30.02 for seventh in the event. The relay team of Mastrantuono, Greg O'Malley (Binghamton, NY/Windsor), Jacob Parfianowicz (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) and D. Parfianowicz set the school mark in the 400 freestyle relay finishing in fifth at 3:29.31. Hauze finished fourth in the 1650 freestyle coming in at 20:32.68. East Stroudsburg took first place on the women's side garnering 752.5 total team points. Misericordia followed in second with 716 points while King's claimed third with 500 points and Hood College fourth with 418 points. Mansfield finished fifth with 370 points with Mount Saint Mary taking sixth with 334 points and Arcadia seventh with 275.5 points. Wilkes (106 points) and Stevenson (31 points) rounded out the scoring. Megan Evers (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) took home 13th in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 23:23.84 to lead the Wilkes women.
