WILKES MEN'S TENNIS FINISHES FREEDOM PLAY UNBEATEN WITH 9-0 WIN OVER MISERICORDIA

EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team completed its undefeated Freedom Conference season with a 9-0 sweep of visiting Misericordia University Thursday morning at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

Wilkes moves to 14-1 overall and finish league play at 6-0. Misericordia drops to 3-11 overall and 1-4 in conference matches.

Wilkes wasted little time gaining the lead after posting three wins in doubles competition. From there, the Colonels swept all six singles flights allowing just three games throughout. Steven Wilson (Bronx, NY/JFK), Max Appello (Sparta, NJ/Sparta), Adam Lefkandinos (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North), Alex Makos (Mansfield, PA/Mansfield), Troy Haas (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) and Collin Strunk (Blakeslee, PA/Pocono Mountain West) earned singles wins for Wilkes.

Wilkes returns to the courts Monday hosting Marywood University at 3:00 p.m. on Senior Day at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
