Wilkes improves its overall record to 7-21 on the season following the pair of victories. Wilkes used a big sixth and seventh inning to pull out the 15-10 win in game one. With the game tied at 3-3 heading into the sixth, Wilkes scored eight runs in the top of the frame to take the lead. Emily McGrath (Upper Darby, PA/Drexel Hill) singled home Hanna DiFresco (Elmwood Park, PA/Immaculate Heart) setting up the bases loaded for Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford). Paskas launched a grand slam home run to left center to plate four runs followed by a three-run shot from Alysha Bixler (Williamstown, PA/Williams Valley) later in the inning. After Keystone answered with seven runs of its own in the bottom of the sixth, the Lady Colonels continued their hot bats in the seventh scoring four insurance runs to put the game away. Lacey Bixler (Williamstown, PA/Williams Valley) connected on an RBI double and Brooke Limeberry (Easton, PA/Easton) added to the advantage with an RBI groundout to second base. Haylie Phillips (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford) capped the scoring with a two-run homer to center. Nine different Lady Colonels reached the hit column in the win. A. Bixler recorded the win in the circle going seven innings allowing four runs on 11 hits striking out six batters. If offense was the calling card in Wilkes' game one win, pitching took a front seat in the game two victory. Meghan Kisela (Schuylkill Haven, PA/Blue Mountain) pitched seven innings not allowing a run on just five hits throughout. Kisela struck out four in the complete game victory. Wilkes did most of its damage in the first scoring four runs on three hits. Jordan Borger (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) drilled an RBI single to right field and Lacey Bixler (Williamstown, PA/Williams Valley) added a three-run homer to give Wilkes a 4-0 lead after one inning. An Alex Hoops (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) two-run single scored A. Bixler and Phillips in the fourth to keep Keystone from any type of comeback attempt. Wilkes returns to the field Saturday hosting SUNY Canton at 9:30 a.m. in a non-conference doubleheader at the Ralston Athletic Complex.Print Friendly Version
