Wilkes moves to 10-22 overall on the year following the split. After Haylie Phillips (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford) reached on an error to leadoff game one for Wilkes, Alysha Bixler (Williamstown, PA/Williams Valley) connected on an RBI double to put Wilkes ahead 1-0. Penn State Hazleton responded with two runs in the top of the second to take its first and only lead of the contest. In the bottom of the second, Wilkes answered with five runs capped off by an A. Bixler grand slam to left field to open the lead up to 6-2. Phillips added an RBI single to center field earlier in the frame. Meghan Kisela (Schuylkill Haven, PA/Blue Mountain) led-off the bottom of the third with a walk and came around to score on Makenna Rushannon (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville)'s bunt single and subsequent throwing error. A. Bixler collected her sixth RBI of the game when she flied out to centerfield plating Rushannon to put Wilkes ahead 8-2 after three innings of play. Back-to-back home runs from Lacey Bixler (Williamstown, PA/Williams Valley) and Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) in the fourth extended the lead to 10-2 before the game was ended in the fifth due to the eight-run rule. A. Bixler led the Wilkes offense going 2-for-3 with a season-high six RBI. Sister L. Bixler also finished 2-for-3 while Rushannon went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. As a team, Wilkes pounded out 12 hits scoring 11 runs. A. Bixler recorded the win in the circle going all five innings scattering four hits while striking out a season-best eight batters. Penn State Hazleton jumped out to a 5-3 lead in game two and added three more insurance runs in the fourth and fifth innings to preserve the 8-4 victory to salvage the split in game two. A. Bixler continued to swing her hot bat drilling an RBI double in a two-run first and added her third home run of the day in the seventh in a losing effort. Jordan Borger (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) finished 3-for-4 in game two to lead the Wilkes offense while A. Bixler followed with two hits including her 26th career home run, tying her for the school's all-time lead.
