WILKES MEN'S TENNIS CONCLUDES PLAY AT BLOOMSBURG INVITATIONAL

BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team concluded play at the Bloomsburg University Invitational Sunday afternoon. The Colonels played the final two round of the event in both singles and doubles competition.

In round five, Troy Haas (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) scored a 5-7, 7-5 (10-4) singles win while Adam Lefkandinos (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) (6-4, 3-6 (11-9), Brian Murray (Brooklyn, NY/Leon M. Goldstein) (6-4, 4-6 (11-9) and Artyom Nabokin (Danvers, MA/Danvers) (6-4, 6-1) all joined Haas as singles winners.

In doubles play, three sets of Colonel pairs scored victories. Jacob and Dominic Parfianowicz (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) claimed an 8-6 win while Steven Wilson (Bronx, NY/JFK) and Lefkandinos also posted a victory at 8-2. Max Appello (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) and Haas also recorded an 8-2 vicotry.

Wilkes returns to dual match play Thursday hosting Lycoming College at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
