Match Notes Colonels Notebook• In a battle of two nationally ranked teams, Wilkes travels to TCNJ for a dual match on Friday night in Packer Hall. Wilkes scored a 27-12 victory over TCNJ last season in the Marts Center.
• Wilkes went a perfect 3-0 at its home quad match with wins over Alfred State, Scranton and RIT. Head coach
Jon Laudenslager recorded his 200th career win with the Colonels 35-15 victory over RIT.
• Wilkes finished in second place at the 2016 Middle Atlantic Conference Wrestling Championship.
Jessie Lopez (Everett, WA/Everett) was the lone champion for Wilkes at 141-pounds. The Colonels saw 16 total wrestlers earn top-six finishes at the event.
• The Colonels have won 14 of their last 16 dual matches following the 38-10 victory at Penn College
• Wilkes finished 1-2 at the NWCA National Duals with a win over No. 15 Baldwin Wallace 21-20 before falling to No. 17 Luther (14-29) and No. 13 Alma College (17-21).
• Wilkes finished fourth as a team at the Messiah Petrfoes including 10 top-eight placewinners at the event.
Thomas Stokes (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) claimed the Colonels lone title at the event beating two ranked opponents on the way to the 141-pound championship. Stokes was also named Most Outstanding Wrestler.
• Wilkes finished 1-2 at the 2015 John Reese Duals falling 20-17 against No. 22 York (Pa.) and 18-16 to No. 12 Stevens Tech before claiming a 30-18 victory over Rowan College.
• Wilkes features two wrestlers ranked in the top ten according to the latest NWCA individual rankings including Fleck (9th at 125) and Diesel (4th at 184).
• The Colonels finished in second place at its season-opening tournament the Monarch Invitational hosted by King's College. Wilkes claimed three titles including Fleck at 125, Grossmann at 133 and Diesel at 184.
