MOOSIC, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team finished in seventh place through round one action Saturday at the Gino Biondi Memorial Tournament hosted by Marywood University at the Glenmaura National Golf Club.
 
Wilkes saw five players score a team total of 340 through the Par 71, 6,339 yard course.
 
Alex Anderson (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin) led all Colonel scorers carding a round one score of 81. Sean McNamara (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) finished with an 85 while Corey Cowitch (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) posted an 87. Chris Nixon (Swoyersville, PA/Wyoming Valley West) also shot an 87 and Michael Malshefski (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) rounded out the Wilkes scorers with a 90.
 
Host Marywood led after round one play with a team score of 309. Rosemont followed closely behind with a 310 and Swarthmore a 311 for third place.
 
Final round action begins tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
