HERSHEY, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team finished in sixth place after one round of play at the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships held at the Hershey Country Club East Course.
 
Wilkes totaled 368 team points for sixth place through round one of play. Eastern University topped the teams with 333 team points while FDU-Florham and Manhattanville College were tied for second with 334 points.
 
Corey Cowitch (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) led Wilkes carding an 89 on the par 71 course. Sean Mcnamara followed shooting a 90 while Michael Malshefski (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) (93) and Corey Hauser (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) (96) rounded out the Colonels finishers.
 
Round two action begins tomorrow (Sunday) with the team champion earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
