Wilkes Men's Tennis Finishes Competition at the 2019 MAC Individual Championship
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team completed the 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men's Tennis Individual Championship on Sunday at the Kirby Park and Ralston Athletic Complex courts. The Colonels finished with one runner-up finish at the tournament.

Larry Scartz (Woodbridge, VA/Home School) and
Isaac Shenton (Shippensburg, PA/James Buchanan) won their No. 3 Doubles semifinal match against Lukas Sanidas and Chad Smialek of Stevenson 8-3 to advance to the final. There the Stevens pairing of Mark Kanevsky and Arjun Krishnan took the No. 3 Doubles title with an 8-0 win.
Over on the singles side it was
Mike Ellis (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) competing in the No. 1 Singles flight. Ellis fell 6-2 in the first set of his semifinal match before forcing a second set tie break against the No. 2 seed Tyler Millan of King's. Millan took the tiebreak to win 6-2, 7-6 (3).
Stevens took home all 11 titles at the 2019 MAC Individual Championship, a feat that was last accomplished by Wilkes in 2017.
The Colonels have completed their fall season and will return to the court in the spring.
