FLEETWOOD, PA – Sarah Sorber (Hunlock Creek, PA/Northwest Area) carded a 92 on Day One of the 2021 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship at Golden Oaks Golf Club as the Wilkes University women's golf team competed in the year-end event.

Sorber's 92 was +20 for the course, placing her in 20th-place out of 54 total golfers. She also tied her Wilkes low-round record at a MAC Championship event, mirroring her 92 at the 2019 championship. Sorber was tied for ninth with seven pars during the round.

Gwen MacConnell (Great Bend, PA/Blue Ridge) shot a 100 to finish at +28 and tied for 28th in the field. MacConnell was one of only 10 players to record a birdie during the round.

Cassidy Taylor (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) rounded out the Colonels participating with a 120. She was +48 and in 39th overall.

Sorber and MacConnell tied for ninth in Par 5 Scoring, averaging a 5.75 at +3. Sorber was tied for 13th in Par 4 Scoring with a 5.00 average at +10.

Natalie Robson of York leads by three strokes after shooting a 75 to finish at +3 on the day.

York (324) leads Stevenson (329) by five strokes in the team standings with eight total teams eligible with four golfers apiece. Wilkes is not eligible for the team standings with only three golfers at the event.
