ANNVILLE, PA – Wilkes University women's tennis senior Sarah Malone (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock) was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday morning.

Malone led Wilkes to the 2021 MAC Freedom Women's Tennis title on Saturday with a 5-3 win over Stevens Institute of Technology and was named the MAC Freedom Championship MVP. Malone won her singles match, 6-2, 6-1, to lead the Colonels over the Ducks after falling behind 2-1 after doubles play. She finished the conference tournament with a 5-1 combined record after going 4-0 across doubles and singles in the quarterfinals and semifinals. The honor was the first conference weekly award for Malone.
 
Wilkes is set to continue its season in the NCAA Tournament with an opponent and date to be determined. The Colonels are making their 14th consecutive tournament appearance.
