Wilkes Men's Tennis Set to Host MAC Freedom Quarterfinal Versus Arcadia
WILKES-BARRE – The third-seeded Wilkes University men's tennis team is set to host sixth-seeded Arcadia University in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Quarterfinal Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the TK Tennis Academy.

here through the Wilkes website. Per Wilkes' spectator policy, spectators will not be allowed at the indoor facility.
The Colonels are the No. 3 seed in the MAC Freedom Championship with a 5-2 record in conference play this season. Wilkes is 8-2 overall and has won the last 12 MAC Freedom titles to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Arcadia earned the No. 6 seed with a 2-5 league record and the Knights are 2-7 overall.
Wilkes defeated Arcadia 6-1 at the Ralston Athletic Complex during a rainy day on April 17th.
The Colonels swept doubles play 3-0.
Jack Maline (Colorado Springs, CO/Northport) and
John Toussaint (Dallas, PA/Dallas Senior) won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles over Josh Noble and Jonathan Noble.
Cole Gibson (Pinecrest, FL/Miami Palmetto Senior) and
Matt Angara (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg) won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles over Francis Tamesis and Luke Thatcher.
Colin Greenman (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees) and
Connor Murphy (Denver, PA/Cocalico) won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles over Logan Davies and Tim Zeng.
In singles play Jonathan Noble defeated Gibson 6-4, 6-4 for the Knights one victory at No. 1 singles. Maline won 6-2, 6-1 over Josh Noble at No. 2, Greenman defeated Davies 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, and
Jacob Bosler (Elkton, MD/Elkton) won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 over Zeng. Toussaint and Tamesis at No. 3 along with Angara and Thatcher at No. 4 were unfinished.
Wilkes has a 42-16 overall singles record on the season and a 21-9 doubles record. Arcadia has a 9-39 overall singles record and an 8-18 doubles record. Greenman is 8-1 in singles play while Gibson is 8-2 to lead the Colonels. The Colonels pair of Maline and Toussaint are 6-2 in doubles action together. Jonathan Noble leads the Knights in singles play with a 3-5 record while he had teamed with his brother Josh to go 4-5 in doubles.
The 2021 MAC Freedom Men's Tennis Championship is slated to take place on Monday, May 3 with the quarterfinal round, Wednesday, May with the semifinal round and conclude on Saturday, May 8 with the title match. The MAC Freedom Champion will earn the conference's NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
The other quarterfinal matches feature No. 1 seed Stevens Institute of Technology hosting No. 8 Misericordia, No. 2 DeSales hosting No. 7 Lycoming, and No. 4 FDU-Florham hosting No. 5 King's.
