Fitzpatrick and Edwards Earn Conference Player of the Week Honors

Nicole Fitzpatrick (New Hampton, NY/Minisink Valley) and men's cross country first year
Caleb Edwards (Grahamsville, NY/Tri-Valley Central) were named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Players of the Week for performances running from October 17-23 as announced by the conference office this morning.
Fitzpatrick, earned MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week, after helping the Colonels earn a 3-1 victory over St. Joseph's College, New York (Long Island) by earning 18 kills on the day. She also had nine kills against DeSales on Wednesday and 13 against Ramapo in the second Saturday matchup. Fitzpatrick finished the week with 40 kills, 13 aces, 30 digs and four blocks. She earned her second conference weekly award of the season and the second for the Wilkes women's volleyball team this year as well.
Edwards, earned the MAC Runner of the Week award, after leading the Colonels at the LVC Last Chance Run Fast as he posted a personal best time of 27:12.1. The time was the third fastest in the Wilkes record book since the reestablishment of the program in 2008. He finished in 16th out of 102 runners, and he was the top MAC finisher in the event. This is his first career conference weekly award for Edwards and the first for the Wilkes men's cross country team this season.
The Colonels will be at home playing Penn State Berks on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Marts Center in women's volleyball while men's cross country prepares to run at the MAC Championships on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
