No. 5 Wilkes Men's Ice Hockey Set for UCHC Quarterfinals against No. 4 Manhattanville
 
WILKES-BARRE – The fifth seeded Wilkes University men's ice hockey team is set to travel to Rye, N.Y. to take on fourth seeded Manhattanville College in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) quarterfinals on Wednesday at the Playland Ice Casino for a 7:00 p.m. start.

The Colonels enter the tournament with a 13-9-3 overall record, and have outscored opponents 76-74 this season. They also boast six players with over 15 points.
 
Matt Carlson (Delmar, NY) leads the team in points with 21 having 11 goals and 10 assists, while Ben Stefanini (Framingham, MA) follows tied for fourth in the conference with 13 goals, having seven assists and a total of 20 points. Jimmy O'Kane (Chicago, IL/Notre Dame Prep) rounds out the top three in points with 18 on six goals and 12 assists. Cam Lowe (Lancaster, MA) has eight goals on the season and Phil Erickson (Eau Claire, WI) and Billy Berry (Redding, CT) have seven each. Goaltender Michael Paterson-Jones (Baldwinsville, NY) has a goals against average of 2.96 with a save percentage of .903. Garrett Nieto (Yorba Linda, CA) stands in goal with a goals against average of 2.57 placing him fifth in the conference, and a save percentage of .922 which is good enough for fourth in the UCHC.
 
Manhattanville's AJ Bella is seventh in the conference in scoring with 18 points on 12 goals and six assists. Mason Emoff has 22 points on the season with nine goals and 13 assists, and Artem Mateichenko has 21 points with four goals and 17 assists. Sebastian Woods has spent the most time in goal for the Valiants this season, earning a goals against average of 2.89 and a save percentage of .918.
 
The Colonels split the at home series with Manhattanville this season, winning the first game 4-3 in overtime on November 12, then losing 3-1 the following day.
