ITHACA, NY – The Wilkes University wrestling team saw its six-match win streak come to an end as No. 24 Ithaca College posted a 33-16 victory over the Colonels Friday night.
 
The Colonels saw its dual match record fall to 7-6 on the season while Ithaca improved to 13-5 on the year.
 
The Bombers took home wins in six of ten bouts, all coming with extra points including three falls.
 
Jack Bauer (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) earned one of four Colonel wins on the night with a 4-0 decision win over Matt Haycook at 141-pounds. Jaryn Hartranft (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua) continued his fine season on the mat posting an 8-3 decision over Wenchard Pierre-Louis at 157-pounds. Cameron Butka (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) earned his 29^th victory of the season taking an extra-point major decision (17-7) at 197-pounds over Ryan Galka. Caleb Burkhart (Hughesville, PA/Hughesville) was the final winner for Wilkes taking a forfeit win at heavyweight.
 
Wilkes will send wrestlers to the Messiah Open tomorrow (Saturday) with wrestling starting at 10:00 a.m. in Grantham, Pa.
