Wilkes Men's Volleyball Set to Join CVC in 2025

WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University Athletic Director Scott Musa has announced the men's volleyball program will join the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) for the 2025 season.

The CVC was first formed in 2011 and has since seen rapid growth as the sport of men's volleyball has continued to expand throughout the region. Wilkes will serve as the seventh member of the CVC, joining Elizabethtown College, Juniata College, Kean University, Marymount University, Rutgers University-Newark, and Southern Virginia University.

"We are excited to join the CVC as it has shown to be a premier men's volleyball conference in NCAA Division III," said Musa. "We have familiarity with several schools in the conference, including fellow Landmark institutions in Juniata and Elizabethtown," he added. "Our student-athletes will once again have the opportunity to play for a conference championship and berth into the NCAA Tournament with the automatic qualifier the CVC offers," he noted.

"Moving the program to the CVC will give our student-athletes more exposure to quality volleyball as well as the opportunity to play for a conference championship and postseason play," said Wilkes men's volleyball head coach Joseph Czopek.

Wilkes, which currently owns a 16-8 record this season as an independent, will finish out play in 2024 before making the move to the CVC next year.
