Wilkes Women's Soccer Draws in Conference Opener

SELINSGROVE, PA – In the conference opener for Wilkes women's soccer, the Colonels and the Susquehanna Riverhawks concluded their game in a 0-0 draw.

With an even playing field, Wilkes had two shots in the half while Susquehanna had none. Erin Edwards (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen) and Jess Shea (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) took the two shots for the Colonels. Shea's shot forced a save out of Riverhawk goalkeeper Katie Henchy. 

Shots were even on both sides in the second half, with both teams taking two apiece as well as both landing two of those shots on goal. Shea added another shot along with Madison Straub (Franklin, NJ/Franklin). Taylor Anthony (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) and Holly Feese (State College, PA/State College Area) both took shots on goal that were saved by Henchy. Susquehanna's two shots on goal were taken by Olivia Amand and Olivia Haines which were both saved by Delaney Yaracs (Butler, PA/Butler) to tally her two saves of the game. 

The Colonels will be on the road again this Wednesday, October 2 against Marywood for a non-conference matchup.
