Wilkes Men's Tennis Concludes Day One at King's College Invitational
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team saw two doubles teams and six of seven singles flights move on the semifinals after day one of the 2025 King's College Invitational held at the Ralston Athletic Complex and Kirby Park Courts on Saturday.
IN doubles play, the No. 1 pair of
Sebastian Sylvester (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago/The College of Lady Fatima) and
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) earned its way into the finals with a 7-5 victory over Eastern and a thrilling 7-6 (4) victory over Elizabethtown. At No. 2 doubles,
Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) and
Landon Gleichauf (Naples, NY/Naples) also advanced to the final round on Sunday.
In singles play, six Colonels moved on to the semifinals on Sunday.
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) (No. 1),
Xavier Bleiler (Mountain Top, PA/MMI Prep) (No. 2), Sylvester (No. 3), Okoh (No. 4), Gleichauf (No. 5) and Luke Messiner (No. 7) will play for a chance at a singles crown on Sunday.
Day two begins at 9:00 a.m. with the semifinals and finals of singles play and finals of doubles competition.
