Miller Selected as Next Men's Basketball Assistant Coach
WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University Men's Basketball Head Coach
Izzi Metz has announced the hiring of
Ross Miller as the program's new Assistant Coach and Director of Intramurals Tuesday morning.
"I'm excited to be a part of the Wilkes University family," Miller said. "I've gotten to know Coach Metz while on the recruiting trail and being local the last three years. I'm looking forward to helping build upon the winning culture he has established with the men's basketball program and eager to learn from everyone here."
Miller joins after a three-year stint at Misericordia University, working as a graduate assistant and assistant coach since 2023. Miller helped coach the Cougars to three MAC Freedom playoff berths and helped develop six All-MAC selections, including two-time MAC POTY Kevin Lazdowsky and 2026 All-MAC guard Jack Gallagher.
Additionally, Miller boasts four years of AAU head coaching experience at the 11U, 12U, 15U, and 17U levels in the area with NEPA Elite and throughout eastern Pennsylvania.
"We are excited to welcome Ross to Wilkes and our basketball program," Metz said. "Ross did a great job at Misericordia as a recruiter, coach and mentor, helping them achieve a high level of success in his three years. He's an outstanding relationship builder and has a tireless work ethic. I know our Colonel players and department staff members will love working with Ross!"
Miller graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor's degree in sport management in May of 2023, spending four years as a manager and equipment assistant for the Fightin' Blue Hens. He received a master's degree in sport management from Misericordia in May of 2026.
