GLOUCESTER, MA – Wilkes University women's ice hockey sophomore
Megan Bell (Waterloo, ON/St. David Catholic) and junior
Tilly Wierdsma (New Hartford, CT) have been named 2025-26 AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholars as announced the association Wednesday afternoon.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 grade points average (GPA) for each semester, and had to appear in 40 percent of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goalies. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA. In total, 444 Division II-III women were honored on the list.
Bell and Wierdsma helped lead the Colonels to its best year in program history including a second-straight Middle Atlantic Conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth. Wierdsma finished with 17 points on four goals and 13 assists from her blue line position while being named Honorable Mention All-MAC. Bell totaled 21 points on eight goals and 13 helpers at forward. Three of her eight goals proved to be game-winning tallies as Wilkes finished a program-best 25-2-1 overall and 20-1 in league games.
The duo also got it done in the classroom as Bell boasted a 4.0 GPA in each semester while Wierdsma earned a 3.875 and 3.885 GPA in the fall and spring respectively.
