TOWSON, Md. - The Wilkes University women's soccer team has been selected eighth in the annual Landmark Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.


Wilkes collected 6 more points than last year tallying 31 points in the poll after finishing 6-7-5 overall and 2-5-2 in conference play in 2025. John McNichol leads the team in his ninth year as head coach. 

The University of Scranton took the top spot once again, tallying 81 points and 9 first-place votes. The 2025 runner-up Catholic University was selected second on 70 points with one first-place vote, with Lycoming College third on 67 points. Susquehanna University (54 points), Elizabethtown College (50 points), Drew University (36 points), and Moravian University (33 points) were selected fourth through seventh respectively. 
Wilkes finished eighth ahead of Juniata College in ninth (19 points) and Goucher College in tenth (nine points). 

The Colonels open the 2025 season across town to face King's College on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. Landmark play begins on Saturday, September 26 away at Elizabethtown at 4:00 p.m.
