WAYNESBURG – The Wilkes University men's and women's cross country teams concluded their seasons on Saturday when they competed in the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships. The men's team 41st place, while the women crossed the line in 38th.
Top finisher for the Colonel men was
Michael Griesemer (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphlin), who finished in 239
th place in a time of 30:58. He was followed by
Phat Nguyen (Hanover Township, Pa./Bishop Hoban) in 261
st with a time of 32:13,
Tom Larrabee (Wyalusing, Pa./Wyalusing) who came across in 264
th in 32:34,
Andrew Julian (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) in 266
th clocking in at 32:29, and
Alexander Caicedo (Pittston, Pa./Pittston) in 270
th with a time of 32:56.
On the women's side,
Amelia Farnham (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) and
Michelle Wakeley (Endicott, N.Y./Union-Endicott) concluded their freshmen campaigns with another strong showing. The tandem finished in 118
th and 129
th place in times of 25:29 and 25:39, respectively. Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Colonels were
Christina Yesu (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) in 243
rd in a time of 29:24,
Brittany Maloney (Stockholm, N.J./Vernon Township) who placed in 266
th in 30:44, and
Emily Klinetob (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) who crossed the tape in 31:50, which was good for 275
th place.
