Wilkes Men's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Jack Saint Clair Memorial
BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Wilkes University men's cross country team opened the second half of the season in fine form, finishing fourth at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial hosted by Jefferson University on Saturday afternoon.
Jack Thompson (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) led the way for the Colonels with a top-five finish, coming across the line fifth with a time of 28:19.39. His fifth-place mark matches his season-best for an 8K race, first achieved at the Cougar Classic in September.
Josh Cackowski (Nanticoke, PA/Holy Redeemer) followed Thompson with a 31:24.17, good for 29
th overall, while
Daniel Elkin (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) (32:32.43) and
Lesley Griglak (Great Meadows, NJ/Hackettstown) (32:33.23) followed in 34
th and 35
th place respectively.
Brett Martinez (Hanover Township, PA/Hanover Area) rounded out the scoring for Wilkes in 54
th place with a 36:38.53, while
Damian Muffolini (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) finished 65
th with a new personal best in the 8K posting a 41:47. 53.
The Colonels now shift their focus to the Landmark Conference Championships at the end of the month, hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday, October 31
st beginning at 11:00 a.m.
