WILKES' MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS COMPETE IN NEPA CLASSIC TO OPEN SEASON Michelle Wakeley finishes 5th in her first collegiate race 8/29/2008 7:30:00 PM The Wilkes University men's and women's cross country teams competed for the first time in 13 years at the NEPA Classic hosted by King's College. The Colonel men finished eighth as Phat Nguyen (Hanover Township, Pa./Bishop Hoban) crossed the line in 23:03 to finish 43rd in the 6K race. Nguyen was followed by Tom Larrabee (Wyalusing, Pa./Wyalusing), who finished 47th with a time of 23:36. Finishing in 53rd place for Wilkes was Michael Griesemer (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphlin) with a time of 24:25. Alex Caicedo was the fourth Wilkes runner to cross the line in a time of 24:47 to finish 56th, while Daniel Hess was 59th with a time of 25:18. On the women's side, Michelle Wakeley (Endicott, N.Y./Union-Endicott) finished fifth out of 64 runners in a time of 15:15 in the 4K race, while Amelia Farnham (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) was eighth with a time of 15:42. Crossing third for Wilkes was Christina Yesu (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail), who finished 45th with a time of 18:10. Stephanie Wasniewski finished 60th with a time of 22:23.
