ALLENTOWN – Brett Osswald (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) scored early in the second half which proved to be enough as Wilkes took a 2-0 win over Muhlenberg.

 

The Colonels made those most of their offense as they had five shots on goal, connecting on two of them. Ryan Phillips (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) made it 2-0 in the 76th minute on an assist by Sean Vona (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal). Osswald had a team-high four shots on goal, while Phillips had two.

 

Muhlenberg had 19 shots, but Wilkes goalkeeper TJ Baloga (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) had nine saves on the night and recorded his second shutout of the season.

 

The Colonels improved to 2-2 on the year, while Muhlenberg fell to 2-2. Wilkes will remain on the road Saturday when it heads to Chester to take on Widener at 7 p.m.
