Misericordia scored just two points in the first 5:26 of the second half and missed their first eight shots until Vinny Baumunk hit a three-pointer with 13:27 to go. The Colonels were unable to capitalize as they still trailed by one despite the lack of scoring my Misericordia.

Kresge would finally give Wilkes the lead for good after hitting a short jumper with 12:48 to go, giving the Colonels a 39-38 lead. They would exchange buckets once again with the Cougars tying the game on four different occasions. Little would tie the game at 49 with 3:48 to go before Wilkes closed out the half with a 10-4 run.
