The Wilkes University softball team will try to extend its season when the Lady Colonels host King's College in the play-in game at 4 p.m. at Ralston Field. The winner will be the No. 4 seed and will take on top-seeded Misericordia in the first round of the Freedom Conference Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Colonels finished league play with a 10-6 record and currently sit fourth, while King's ended their season with a 9-7 conference mark. The two teams split earlier in the year at King's with the Lady Monarchs winning the first game 8-0 in five innings before Wilkes took an 11-9 victory in the second.
Wilkes will be the host institution for the Freedom Conference Tournament no matter what happens in the play-in game. While the Cougars hold the top spot, DeSales will come to Edwardsville as the No. 2 seed and Delaware Valley enters as the No. 3 seed.
