ELIZABETHTOWN – Elizabethtown held the Lady Colonels scoreless in the first half and carried the momentum to a 23-3 win over Wilkes University snapping the Lady Colonels four-game win streak.
The Blue Jays held a 16-0 at the break while holding the Lady Colonels to four shots on goal. They would eventually lead 17-0 before
Kat Edwards (Windsor, Conn./Windsor) put Wilkes on the board with 24:25 to play. Brittany Hodnik would score the second goal at the 8:34 mark before scoring the final goal of the game with one minute to play.
For the first time this season,
Melissa Polchinski (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown), the ECAC Player of the Week, did not score a goal, but did pick up an assist.
Allie Zufuft picked up five saves in goal in the first half before
Cassie Cronin (Manchester, NH/Manchester Memorial) blocked five shots in the second.
Katie Carprinolo scored four goals for Elizabethtown while Anna Ford and Megan Byrnes added three each. The loss moved the Lady Colonels to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in MAC play, while Elizabethtown improved to 11-2 overall and 7-0 in league play.
