WILKES-BARRE – Michelle Wakeley (Endicott, N.Y., Union-Endicott) finished second out of 39 runners, while Timothy Fisher (Cape May Court House, N.J., Cape May County Technical School) grabbed 11th place out of 58 runners to help the men's and women's cross country teams on Saturday. The men's team finished third of 10 teams, while the women finished 2nd out of eight teams.

Wakeley finished with a 22:30.7 with only one runner crossing the line before her. Kara Engle (Hamlin, N.Y., Hilton) was the next best runner for Wilkes, finishing in 11th place with a 24:46.6, while Olivia Waszkiewicz (Sauquoit, N.Y., Sauquoit) finished in 12th with a 25:04.4.

For the men, Fisher ran a 28:20.8 for 11th place, while Austin Loukas (Windham, Maine, Windham) wasn't far behind, finishing in 13th place with a 28:24.3. Matthew Buono (Goshen, N.Y., Goshen) ran a 28:48.3 for 15th place to round out the top three runners for Wilkes.
