BLOOMSBURG – The Wilkes University women's tennis team competed in the Bloomsburg Fall Classic on Saturday and Sunday with multiple Lady Colonels advancing to the second day of competition.  This is the first time Wilkes has competed this year. 

Melanie Nolt (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) won the "A" Singles consolation title match while Amanda Rossi (Fogelsville, PA/Parkland) took home the "D" Singles consolation win.

Alexis Donner (Belmar, NJ, Wall), Rebekah Shanaman (Richland, ELCO), and Michelle Knight (Roaming Shores, OH, Trinity) performed well on Saturday and advanced to singles play on Sunday. The duos of Nolt and Victoria Bybel (Lancaster, Lancaster Mennonite) as well as Shanaman and Knight also advanced to day two of the classic, which included Division II schools Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg, and IUP.

The Lady Colonels will host the MAC Individual Tournament next weekend in Edwardsville.
