DOYLESTOWN – Delaware Valley had two players score 20-or-more points and hit 10 three-pointers which resulted in an 81-73 win over Wilkes University in Freedom Conference play.

The Aggies shot nearly 50 percent from the field, including 55.6 percent from beyond the three-point line to improve to 12-11 overall and 5-7 in conference action.

Delaware Valley jumped out to a 16-3 lead in the first four minutes of action and led by double digits nearly the entire first half. Midway through the first half the Aggies would go on a 20-2 run to lead 38-13 with 8:00 capped off with a James Jones layup. It was his only field goal of the game. They would eventually take a 49-30 lead into the locker room at the break.

The Aggies could do no wrong in the first half as they hit 57.6 percent from the field and eight of their 19 field goals came from beyond the three-point line. The Colonels on the other hand were not as fortunate as they hit just 12-of-36 from the field for 33 percent and were 0-of-6 from beyond the three-point line.

Wilkes caught fire five minutes into the second half and used a 13-0 run to pull within nine (58-49) with 12:16 to go after Tyler Breznitsky (Freeland, PA/MMI Prep) drained a three-pointer. The freshman would finish with 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting and made two of the team's three three-pointers.

The single digit lead quickly became a 16-point advantage, but the Colonels were able to pull within seven on two different occasions, but would come no closer.

Kendall Hinze (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) had one of the best games of his career as he put in a career-high 18 points while pulling down nine rebounds to go along with an assist and a block. Tom Kresge (Brodheadsville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) had his usual performance with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Colonels fell to 13-9 overall and 4-7 in Freedom Conference play and will host DeSales Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Marts Center.
