FDU jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first half and never looked back as the Devils took a 12-1 win over the Wilkes University Lady Colonels in their home opener.

The Devils used ball control nearly the entire game to keep the Lady Colonels at bay, but Erica Sundberg (Mullica Hill, N.J./Kingsway HS) was able to get Wilkes on the board with an unassisted goal at the 8:46 mark in the first period. FDU would eventually take an 11-1 lead at the break.

The Lady Colonel offense was stymied in the second half as the Devils did not allow one shot on goal in the final period.

Cassie Cronin (Manchester, NH/Manchester Memorial) had nine saves in goal for Wilkes, while Carissa Clark (Petersburg, N.J./Ocean City) and a team-high four ground balls with just one turnover.

The Lady Colonels fell to 0-2 on the year and will be back in action Wednesday when they host Lancaster Bible at 4 p.m. at Ralston Field.
